Collective nouns (e.g. band, team, group) are most often plural in British English, whereas they are singular in American English. British English commonly uses \u201cshall\u201d to describe actions in the future, whilst an American would probably say \u201cwill\u201d or \u201cshould\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Accents<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Differences in accents are obviously very striking as well. Although both the US and the UK have a wide variety of regional accents, the main general difference is the soft \u201cr\u201d in British speech and the distinct \u201cr\u201d pronunciation of the \u201cr\u201d in American English. Apparently the British upper class adopted the soft \u201cr\u201d to distinguish their speech from that of the common masses, who eventually copied the speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What about you?
